I bought this to use with my Chromebook. This allows me to keep several things connected at the same time, e.g. a webcam, microphone, headphones, etc. It should be noted that no power adapter is supplied. I had one laying around and I usually just plugged it directly into the Chromebook.

Worked on my laptop with 2 external hard drives for a few months. Now it only works sporadically due to a loss of communication, apparently because the internal wiring of the USB port is broken. It loses connection when moved, even though it looks perfectly normal from the outside. I've tried it with multiple USB ports on my laptop and it does the same thing no matter what. I have my external hard drives plugged directly into the same ports and they don't lose connection when moved, so…

I have a lot of external connections to my computer, so I had to look for a USB extension cable. This is great because it also has separate on/off buttons. This is especially useful for my messaging chair as I can leave it plugged in all the time and just use the buttons to turn it off.

Four USB ports are working properly. This item was a good price. I have used it with USB WiFi keyboard, USB mouse, USB sticks and also with my cell phone. The best thing about this item is all the switches as you can turn off any USB accessory very quickly.

Update: Great start. Immediately after the rear window was closed, it began to fail. Find out. Ports are randomly disconnected and reconnected, causing connected devices to stop working and turn off. Happens constantly and makes it unusable. Throw it away and look for another brand. Don't waste your money here.

To be able to connect something. The 7 sockets keep things tidy, now I have more space on my desk. At some point you need buttons, don't want to use all the plugs that want to waste electricity. No complaints, better than a candle strip much cleaner.

I NEVER seem to run out of USB ports for my computer, but this one device gives me all the space I need in a neat package. Appearance and build quality are EXCELLENT. I even like how the ports light up when in use. Fantastic product in every way.

This powered USB hub does not include a power adapter and data sheet. Somewhere in the questions there is an answer, but the polarity is not specified (negative tip turns out mine didn't work with the positive tip). Is that even the correct specification? Garbage.
