Worked on my laptop with 2 external hard drives for a few months. Now it only works sporadically due to a loss of communication, apparently because the internal wiring of the USB port is broken. It loses connection when moved, even though it looks perfectly normal from the outside. I've tried it with multiple USB ports on my laptop and it does the same thing no matter what. I have my external hard drives plugged directly into the same ports and they don't lose connection when moved, so obviously it's the USB port/cabling on this hub. Another oddity is that I have to turn on/press the power button for the USB port of my WD external hard drive (which is directly powered) for the hub to recognize it. I don't need to do this for another brand of drive and my WD works great when plugged directly into a laptop. I expected it to last more than about 2 months despite being on the lower end of those hubs. I also think that if you buy something from Revain (and are performed by Revain) you should be able to contact the seller if there is a problem, but of course you can't do that for this item.
