Phones work perfectly. Suddenly after I had them for a few months they started dialing randomly while I was on the phone. Was super scared the first time. It doesn't happen all the time, and other than those rare occasional sporadic instances, phones work great. I wish it had a feature that says out loud who's calling so I don't have to run to the phone only to find out it's a telemarketer.

This has all the features you would expect from a phone EXCEPT it doesn't announce the caller id out loud. Little did I know how much I would miss this feature and didn't realize it wasn't there when I bought the set. In addition, when messages are pending, the base station will beep periodically to alert you. This feature annoys me as I purposely pick up calls intermittently and have to get up to delete messages immediately after a call to avoid hearing repeated beeps.

I had a VTech phone before and it worked for many years with no problems. I can't say that about this phone. It only lasted 2 weeks and this phone had problems from the start. Even though I turned off voicemail because I have an answering machine through my phone company, the message "New Voicemail" kept coming, even though I turned it off multiple times. I really like this phone. Good build quality, in other words it doesn't feel cheap. Good hand feel and grip, unlike some lower-end models. So I think it's worth the extra money. I also like that I can add another pair of hands later if I want. The core base is well done and still seems easy to learn the ends and exits of programming. I am very happy with the features and performance of this phone. However, I bought it with the intention of mounting it on our kitchen wall. As you can see in the attached images, the wall mount is ridiculously tall (about 5-1/2 inches tall) and outshines the phone base, which is only about 2-1/2 inches tall. This is an update of my previous review and a deep downgrade. I ordered this product about six weeks ago. Set up and programmed without incident. The system worked perfectly for a month or so. But right after closing the return window, the transmitted audio stopped working as if the entire system was turned off. Arrived in a nice box, opened the box and found the installation instructions, then it went downhill. The written instructions for setting up speed dialing refer to messages on the phone screen that never appear. I can't call them for support/service. You must email information about your issue. I received a set of new instructions via email which partially worked but were very different from the instructions. Bought because of good experience with the previous model (CS6229-4). I'm disappointed that one of the older model's very useful features seems to have disappeared - the ability to selectively delete old messages. In the new model, you have to delete all old messages or nothing. In the old model, if there was one that might have included a phone number, you could delete the others but keep those.
