Don't waste money.

I may have received a bad batch but 25% of the reel was defective. At first I thought it was just a backing but after removing the backing and sticking it on the window the lines were still there and nothing could be seen through the window. If I hadn't cut it and used it I would have sent it back.

  • Sturdy construction

Didn't work as expected

I have a special needs son who throws his paperback books through windows. When I found this product I cried out with joy! 12ml! Is that safe? As you can see in the picture this is not the case. A paperback ("Diary of a Wimpy Kid” to be precise) was thrown through the window. Very disappointed.

Bargain Buying Goods for a Home Decor

Bargain Buying. The 12 mil thick 3M brand is better quality and much thicker, but you can get about 3x more if you buy this brand for the same price. Anyone who says they have air bubbles obviously doesn't know how to properly stick the foil. I'm sure people thought they would just call and apply. Just watch how to apply window film on YouTube and anyone can learn how to do it. I put it on today and it is totally transparent with no bubbles. All in all a good buy.

  • Great Choice

  • Some Cons

Fast shipping BUT I bought a 30 x 50 inch screen protector in a 12 mil roll and the roll I received has two labels, one says 12 mil and the another 8 mil. So I won't say what I actually got. Disappointed as there have been a number of burglaries in my area and I wanted a 12mil window protector. Now I don't know what I have :( UPDATE: I just opened up a roll for installation - it's only 10ft (in two 5ft sections no less!) and not the 50ft I paid $129 for I'll call customer service on Monday…

What a nightmare, the best window film

This product could not be used. We had all the tools we needed, cut it to size (you should get a perfect cut because it doesn't bend at all to cut extra edges), cleaned the window properly, applied soap spray and then filmed it. We left 1 by a margin on the first try as shown in YouTube videos. The video must have been made with a very thin window film as this thickness will not flex in any way to fit the window. On the second try we cut a piece and we couldn't get the excess water out from…

Pros
  • Finally bought it

  • A problem

although advertised as 12 mil it is not as thick as BDF window film S8MC

We bought two brands of window protection film. We first applied shatterproof 12 mil VViViD clear vinyl window film. There were no instructions or tools included. We watched videos on YouTube for some general instructions. The next day we applied BDF S8MC Security and Safety Clear 8 Mil window film. Although advertised as 8 mil thick, it was actually much thicker than VViViD's 12 mil! BDF S8MC Security and Safety Clear 8 mil window film came with good instructions and helpful installation…

How to install safety plastic

My first order came in a long roll. The second order came in rolls of 12 feet. There's a lot less waste when you use a long roll. It is best to cut it with scissors to fit the window. Forget the commercial spray, but you will need a cutter and squeegee. Use a spray bottle with very soapy water. Wash the window well and use a razor blade to remove any debris. Make sure the plastic you cut fits the window. It is best to leave about 1/4 inch clearance on all 4 sides. Then start peeling the plastic

Pros
  • Feels good

  • Useless features

Unused due to design!

The manufacturers intentionally made this product almost impossible to install. I bought a roll a year ago and it was a bit difficult, but NOTHING is like it is now! Last year they did the following: - They rolled the film into an even tighter roll that has a memory effect. in a film that causes it to detach from the glass from above and below. You actually have to stop the installation and stick the film onto the glass, first using a squeegee and then a heat gun to activate the adhesive. The…
