Update: It took a little over a year to go bad, even with a special vinyl cleaner. The attached photo is from two years ago, now completely faded and cracked. I really like the realistic look of carbon fiber. When laid directly onto real carbon fiber. it's just a few shades darker. but also catches the light. You can't tell it's man-made carbon fiber unless you get really close to it, and even then it's still hard to tell.
