Wait 5 to 10 years.

Calibration took too long. I cut the hole in 5 minutes. Inside, the wall was not visible, like in the video. I want to wait 5-10 years until they make something better than what they have now. I like the idea. However, it requires work./

Pros
  • Automatically finds and displays the center of the pin.
Cons
  • Something else

Buyer warning! suitable for Thornseekers

The product didn't work as well as advertised, I tried it on a few jobs and it still didn't do what was advertised. I really want a refund if at all possible. I will continue to give my honest review as a contractor who has been building for over 13 years and post it on every feed I see on Facebook and Revain.

Pros
  • The mobile app offers continuous updates and feature improvements.
Cons
  • Update Availability

Does not work at all as advertised

After seeing a demo of the device I thought it was a pretty cool alternative to Studfinder. Unfortunately this does not work as advertised. I tested it on several walls where I knew there were studs and wires. He missed most of them. My suggestion: Get a Studfinder. That does not work. It also kills your battery. Cool concept if they can ever make it work.

Pros
  • . Walabot DIY Plus X features a new quick start scan, an improved user interface and a redesigned case.

Warning Read before buying

At first I was glad to buy this product but I was nervous because of the negative reviews. So I decided to buy a used Walabot for $52 (see Revain stock listings). When I got it, I watched some YouTube videos on how to set up and use Walabot. Once set up, Walabot actually works as promised, but it's a bit buggy in picture mode, showing that the picture lags at times. In expert mode, however, the app and the Walabot run much more smoothly and precisely at the position where the wire or bolt is. I

Pros
  • Works with Android phones running Android 6.0+ with USB On-The-Go (OTG).
Cons

Honest evaluation after purchase and use

Even after reading most of the negative reviews I thought I would give it a try anyway but was very dissatisfied with the product and the app you use with it. It's a good idea if it works most of the time (which was less than 20% for me) and could get away with the hassle of using it with a phone. I am very familiar with such technologies and devices, but I was disappointed with the result. After multiple calibrations and using the different modes available, I have never been able to get an…

Don't waste your time and money with Walbot!

Videos are very deceiving! They never show the effort required to calibrate the device (every time it loses contact with the wall). You have to hold down the button on the phone while making large consecutive circles. When it's finally calibrated, you'll have to use the "raw" sensitivity settings, which show everything like a droplet weather map. Once you set the right sensitivity. You switch to simulation mode, where some drops look like hairpins and others like pipes. These are not real…

Pros
  • Requires no batteries.
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

I'm a contractor who needs to know what's in the walls. We use a Fluke thermal imaging camera and a variety of spike finders and other methods including ground penetrating radar and X-rays. When I saw this unit for sale I was intrigued as it would be nice to have tool bags for all my employees without having to worry about them being lost, stolen or damaged. We tried this device with Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy. Both were extremely easy to set up to use the software. We've found that the…

Pros
  • Detection range: ten centimeters deep into the wall.
Cons
  • Long delivery
