In general, if you can fix the brackets yourself, the catalytic converter is fine. Maybe mine did a poor job transporting the 2 brackets where they were bent and the bottom hole was dented. The GASKET was simply thrown into the box with the cat, that wouldn't be a problem if the gasket was wrapped in plastic on the side of the car as usual. The only thing that was really wrong was the lack of studs for the support brackets. I've included a picture of my original cat.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

It will miss the smog, but it's not 100% OEM, more like 85% "Direct Fit ".

I'm glad I was able to skip smog on a 2005 Toyota Rav4 with this device, it fixed the errors I was having on my ODB2 reader. However, buyers should be aware that this is NOT a 100% OEM replacement. Be prepared to buy replacement screws. The lower cast iron nut that is part of the catalytic converter assembly SUCKS. I ended up drilling out the passenger side bolt to allow the bolt to go through the factory mounting bracket and fired the cast iron eyebolt and used the original factory locknut to…

Excellent quality and installation on a 2004 Rav4 with .

Excellent quality and fits a 2004 Rav4 with 2AZFE engine. It came with an exhaust manifold gasket. You have to transfer the studs from the old manifold to the new one, 3 in total. Everything was great, the only problem was the heat shields, they needed a bit of work to put them back in place.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine

Save $1100 and DIY

This cat was easy to replace. It took 2 hours from start to finish. You need to remove 2 bolts from the bottom flange and in my case 1 bolt from the top heat shield. He stood up and fitted perfectly. You will need to remove the old cone seal from the old manifold or buy a new one. The dealer wanted $1,000 for the distributor and $500 for a replacement. If you have your hands, you can get the job done like their nuts and bolts. I did this work on my 2006 Scion.

Pros
  • cool product

just had to replace two mounting bolts on the bottom flange

If they say they fit then they are correct. In total, I spent almost two hours replacing the original catalytic converter with my new Walker 82559 Direct CalCat-compatible. My original upper heat shield was bolted on, as was a dipstick heat shield. Update from 04/08/19 after installation, the next day I smoked the car and it worked without any problems. I can only recommend Walker Parts. Thanks Revin

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Obsolete model

A ton saved and emissions cleaned up

My Scion tC kept giving out different error codes. First I replaced the O2 sensors, then the MAF, finally the light went down. The code is P0420 and I knew it couldn't mean anything other than replacing the catalytic converter. I found a few cheaper options but then it turned up at the Revain warehouse with a box slightly damaged but the part was intact and undamaged for a fraction of the cost. This was a direct replacement for my 2006 tC, only took a few hours, some PB blaster and a good…
