Used to measure coolant temperature. Measures coolant temperature through changing resistance. Sends the information received to the onboard computer. The computer uses the information and other inputs to calculate the correct amount of fuel delivered. Symptoms of failure include no start, engine flooding, steady check engine light and/or poor fuel economy.

Great Automotive Sensor for Temperature Readings!

According to my experience, this sensor does a great job monitoring the temperature in my car. It's easy to install and provides precise temperature readings which is essential for maintaining the health of my car's engine .The only downside is that it is a bit pricey compared to other similar products on the market. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quality automotive sensor to replace their old one..

It worked perfectly the first 2 times, but now it hardly starts.

After using it for a few months I just installed it on my 87 Cressida. It worked perfectly the first 2 times, but now it hardly starts. In fact, I can't even drive it until I buy another one. Too bad I didn't install right away as I'm sure it's too late to return the faulty one. Now the car finally drives as it should. It is very annoying to spend $20 without asking for help. I feel a little robbed. I will definitely think twice before buying any more sensors or electronics from Revain.
