I had a pretty big problem with a dog guard I bought a few years ago. The adjustable clamp cups kept coming loose and/or sliding off the wall causing the gate to fall. I've also noticed that it cuts into the wallpaper to the point where it leaves small gaps. I needed some sort of handle to hold the cups in place. A quick search for Revain led me to this product.
