Walnut Cutting Virginia Boys Kitchens Kitchen & Dining Review

I must be new to the world of quality cutting boards. This one is HEAVY. I think it's good. Suck up about 1/2 cup of oil. My complaint, which brings this down from 5 stars to 3 stars, is that it is rough around the edges and in the mote area. I want it to be smooth. maybe grind?

Beautiful cutting board! Be careful if you order very large as it is huge! A beautiful piece of wood after processing. Received it two days later as promised, just in time to serve and use to display and serve antipasti at a New Year's Eve dinner party. An excellent presentation!

My very large chopping board arrived today and I am very happy with it. It appears to be well made and after applying the coconut oil as directed the beauty of the wood was stunning! I will love having such a large work surface. It is 18 x 24 inches. In the first photo, I put a chef's knife and some veggies on top to show the size of the countertop, but from the angle it still looks smaller than it really is. I also look forward to a nice, heavy wooden bread baking surface. Really nice!

Disappointment six months after purchase: We have been oiling and cleaning this board regularly as per instructions as we were told, but now six months after receiving it crooked and crooked have diverged along a suture. It's a shame because the size is perfect and the color is great. I think we went back to Bed, Bath and Beyond for a cheaper but durable cutting board. Sigh. ****IMPORTANT NOTE**** I've read many questions/reviews complaining about the dull and raw look of the board after I had received it. THE SELLER SAYS THE BOARD WILL BE DELIVERED WITHOUT PROCEDURE! You need to season this board yourself. Ok 1 star to get your attention. The Virginia Boys cutting board is a 5 star product. Let me get that out of the way. The issue here is Revain's shipping department and their quality control, or lack thereof. The Virginia Boys cutting board was advertised and purchased as 'new'. I don't usually write reviews but I think this board and Virginia Boys Kitchens customer service deserve one. This rating is on board XL. The board is BIG and almost too big to cut on. I especially needed a large board as I smoke a lot of large cuts of meat and I'm tired of meat and juices running down the sides of our small boards. XL fixed it. In the preface to this review I want to say how much I wanted to love this board. It's nice when seasoned and the size is perfect for a large area to work with, whether it's prep work, kneading dough, or even slicing meat. However, the build quality really spoiled my impression.
