Warn Industries 68560 Synthetic Winch Rope 8ft, 1 Pack - Premium Grade, Red Review

Finally installed for my plow because it finally started snowing. I like to use this instead of bending the steel cable on the winch. I've been plowing for a few hours and it's held up great and time will tell when I use it all season.

Overall I'm happy with this rope, but it didn't last as long as I was hoping. It broke after about ten days with the plow. Although this is shorter than my steel cable held up, I still prefer synthetic and will continue to use it. It is absolutely easier to repair than a steel cable.

In winter I usually swap out my long expensive kevlar cable for this one. I've gone through 3 of them and can tell you first hand that they are rubbish. They break out at least once during the winter season! In fact, I'm writing this review an hour after my last one broke under the first snow of the season.

This plow rope corresponds to the dimensions indicated. Many ropes advertised as 3/16 inch are actually larger and will not fit on a winch. It's the right size and fits perfectly. But be careful, the product is NOT what is advertised in the picture. The item I received did not include a sheath over the rope as advertised. Also, I received a red cable instead of the gray cable shown in the picture.

This Kevlar rope is AWESOME! I've been using it on my Polaris Ranger Warn winch which has been attached to my 6 foot snow blower since November 2013. The steel cable that I have been using since 2005 broke over time. Since I've been using this Kevlar rope, it has never broken! I decided to replace the ropes as they "look" pretty worn out after 5 winter seasons as this rope has gone up and down on the winch thousands of times plowing tons of snow.
