It was difficult to squeeze the plate around the petrol tank. With the help of some tension belts we were able to mount the plate.

Excellent quality. I used it to replace an original rusty one on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler. I painted it with a liner in hopes that it would help repel water and dirt getting stuck between the gas tank and that skid plate.

I needed to replace a leaking tank and the skid plate was getting rusty so I bought a product from Warrior. Great product, it only took a little fiddling to line up the screws (you should expect that). Without accessories and belt. The belts that worked perfectly were the SPECTRA PREMIUM ST 212.

Screw holes did not match, had to lengthen the rear holes by 1/2 as well as the front holes. There isn't much material in the front holes to make this so I had to weld on washers. Now I'm waiting for the paint to dry. Very annoying, no idea what my problem was. 95 yj all original and was between this and the tank in the cockpit. Too bad I didn't do a tank in the cockpit. won't cost much more/easier to maintain/easier to install than it is to fight.

After reading a few Jeep forums I found out that the difference between a 15 gallon tank and a 20 gallon tank is a little bit inside the tank. Externally, this equates to 15 gallons and 20 gallons of the same size. I can confirm this to be true as this skid plate fits my 15 gallon tank perfectly. It is exactly the same size, shape and design as the OEM skid plate that I replaced on my 95 YJ. Hope this helps some other old Jeepers!

Bought for my 95JY. The metal was warped and the holes on the front were over an inch and a half wide. I would return this product but I already had a jeep. disassembled and had to be taken to work to get the jeep back on the road. The good thing is that the metal is thick, and the bad thing is that it took a lot of effort to fix the defect, which required resetting the fuel tank assembly again. I've added photos of the original skid plate to show how far the skid plate is from the original.

Received this tank protection plate about 4 days after ordering. Wonderful! I put it on my 95 YJ. It fits perfectly in the bearing holes. Drilling is not required. It took a bit of "maneuvering" to get it in place, but that was to be expected given the exhaust pipe routing. I used stainless steel fasteners to reattach it as the original fasteners were partially rusted and gone. This item comes exactly as shown in the picture. black powder coated.
