Faulty waterproof switch - waste of money

According to my experience, this waterproof switch failed on the first use causing me to lose power to my trolling motor. The only upside was the easy installation process. However, the failure of the switch cost me time and money to replace. Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable circuit breaker for their boat.

Pros
  • Waterproof design ensures protection from water damage.
Cons
  • Noisy operation due to the clicking sound it produces when it trips.

1 year defect.

After a year on my boat the switch stopped working properly. When I press the button to "open" the circuit, I still get resistance readings across the terminals. The hinge part of the switch does not work freely and firmly.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • old

Amps would not last

I bought 2 models for 100 amps. When they have cooled down, i.e. have not been loaded for several hours, they carry 75 amps for a few minutes. Before they heat up and work indoors. Then you have to let them cool down for a while before they reset. After resetting, they only carry about 40 amps without tripping. The ambient temperature is about 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Even if you reduce the rating to 80%, it's 80 amps continuous. At least that's what I expected of them. I will replace them with…

  • While satisfied
