The product description says that this drive has a 2-year warranty. Because the drive was manufactured in 2013, there is NO MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY on it. I will avoid this seller at Revain in the future as I cannot trust him to provide accurate information.

I have purchased many hard drives from this seller and they have always been great until my last purchase. The hard drive just dangled and moved in a box five times the size of the hard drive. Update: WD doesn't guarantee OEM hard drives so I guess I bought a new one. I purchased this hard drive in April 2018 and had it professionally installed by Best Buy's Geek Squad. Now in January 2019 the hard drive has failed. I've been trying to see if it's covered under warranty but WD requires a serial number which means I have to pay Best Buy to open my laptop and help me get a serial number and then see whether WD will replace him, and then wait for everything. before returning to Best Buy

The hard drive was RIPed and I still don't know what happened but I was very happy to find a new heart. Easy to replace and plenty of space so swapping out is a breeze. Now my big problem is with the old drive and it had a lot of stuff on it :-( very sad, tons of photos are gone. Great price and no problems installing and reinstalling windows. I had another old slow laptop to try to help load and create a disk to restore a new disk.

I needed an external hard drive that was affordable and light enough. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a solution so this was perfect. I bought an external enclosure with USB-C support. This works with my iMac and Macbook Pro. Also, I've had better luck with Western Digital than some other brands. Unbeatable in price/storage.
