There is nothing wrong with that. Folds neatly and holds pieces in place. The print on the pieces is pretty accurate. Parts can be moved easily. Magnetic stand for storing parts that are not in the game. Contains additional white and black queens and two empty pieces. Attractive white interface with dark green squares. Folded in black with gold text. It appears to be made of vinyl over thin metal pads. Algebraic Notation. Excellent quality and value.

My son wanted this chess for his birthday so he could take it with him instead of bringing his lovely wooden set. It's very compact - about the size of a check book - and definitely does the job. We've used it on the street, in restaurants, and on trips. The main thing that needs improvement is that it should come with a case. The magnets are not strong enough to stay on the board during shipping. I'm glad he has extra parts because he already lost one.

I have a small travel set but wanted something quick and easy. I needed something I could take out and put back in very quickly so I could use it with my chess book when I had a few minutes to spare. This product definitely meets those requirements. Works as advertised and seems to last a while. As others have mentioned it would be nice if it held up on its own but I keep it in my backpack pocket so it's really not a problem. I definitely recommend it!

The vinyl on this set is lightly ribbed like most others. However, they don't affect the playability or operation of the magnets, so they don't pose much of a problem. This style delivers the pieces to the sheet from which they are cut. The sheet sticks to the third tile, which is at the bottom of the board from the playing position. My family LOVES this item. We have normal wooden chessboard, not suitable for travel, which looks good at home, but definitely not suitable for travel because it is big and heavy.
