Description of Wasserstein Weatherproof Power Cable - Ideal for Blink Outdoor & Blink XT2/XT Camera - 16ft Thin and Long Cable (2 Pack, White)

NO MORE BATTERY CHANGES - We love the Blink camera, but we don't like having to go outside to change the batteries at regular intervals. That’s why we have developed a unique weatherproof power cable for the Blink Outdoor & Blink XT2/XT Camera. Now you can operate your security camera continuously and never have to worry about the batteries again. THOUGHTFUL DESIGN - Our carefully crafted design comes with a silicone tab that covers the Micro USB connection once the cable is connected to the camera. It is designed for easy installation, as all you need to do is connect the cable to the charging port on the back of the camera and plug in the silicone tab. This makes the cable completely weatherproof and keeps your camera protected from the element. LONG & THIN CABLE - Our cable is extra-long (16ft!). This allows you to easily plug it into an electrical outlet inside or outside your house, even if the camera is a little further away. Our cable is extra thin so that you can run it through a window and still close it completely. FOR THE SAVVY BLINK USER - Instead of spending time and money on replacing the batteries regularly, the savvy Blink user will save time and money by using the Wasserstein power cables to power their Blink Outdoor & Blink XT2/XT Camera. WASSERSTEIN SAVINGS FOR BLINK ACCESSORIES - Realize huge savings when you buy two or more of our Blink Accessories - Use discount code 'BLIKDEAL’ at the checkout. Hopefully there will be no more battery drain warnings!

Easy Installation. You will need to drill a 3/8" hole to route the cable through the waterproof case and into the back of the camera. (see photos). There is no notification in the app that the device is using ground power instead of battery, so we'll see!

Great for saving

For people confused by the comments I wanted to give some information about it. They come with a power adapter/AC adapter. The cable is flat so it fits perfectly against the wall through the closed door. I tested mine without batteries on 60 second clips with a 10 second restart time and they had no issues. I'll put batteries in for backup, but I love it.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Negative experience

Fantastic for Blink

I use these cables for two of my Outdoor Blink cameras. These cables fit very well, although I plan to actually lubricate them with silicone sealant and glue to ensure a watertight seal. The ribbon cable seems solid, but I still run my wires in 3/4" conduit. A 16-foot cable is sufficient for some outdoor setups, but a longer cable of about 25 feet would also be a desirable option .

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

The length is great for my needs

My cameras eat batteries during lunch break. So I took these very long cords and carefully pulled them to the socket. Now I never have to worry about climbing stairs, taking off the camera and changing batteries again. And they're matte black, so they don't really stand out. I think if you had a light colored surface to attach them to you could either find a white string or just paint that string to match.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Something different

These are the cables you need to buy.

They arrived exactly as described although the quality of the cables is even better than I expected. I'm not a fan of rechargeable batteries, so I power all of my Blink XT cameras with these power cords. The price is great, the quality is great, but bye bye batteries. Based on my purchases from Wasserstein (cables, mounts and silicone cases) this is definitely the company to buy Blink accessories from.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Clarity

Much better than batteries

I originally bought lithium batteries but after a month they died due to activity (we live in a city on a busy street). I found the length too long but it was perfect. It goes up and outside my front door along the inner door frame to an outlet next to the front door (but closer to the ground). I like that it is flat as it is closed with a door. Now I don't have to buy batteries for the camera anymore. Let's see how the cord behaves in winter.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Interval

Works great and still has battery backup.

My cameras are heavily shadowed by wildlife. So my battery life was maybe half a year instead of 2 years. I started looking at solar panels and then I realized they would suit me. There is a camera on the side of my garage and because it's 16 feet long I can plug it in in the garage and turn on the camera. Outside. Another camera is located at the back of the house next to a sliding glass door with an electrical outlet on the side of the house. Maybe someday (hopefully not) this camera will…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
