Description of Weaver Leather Stierwalt Breaking Halter: The Top-Choice for Gentle and Effective Training

Quick pull-and-release action helps prevent swollen jaws, unlike the slower release of conventional breaking halters. Pressure points and easy slide action help acclimate calf to the feel of a show halter. Special figure-eight hardware designed by Kirk Stierwalt makes this halter one of a kind. Lead measures approximately 8 1/2' long. Unique hardware also helps prevent the poly rope from rubbing together for easy sliding action.

Great for other sports

Pretty easy to use and very durable. Moves around the cow's face a lot but gets the cow from point A to point B. You just need to be careful when using it and remember where the rope is on her face.

DEAR WEAVERS! Rider

My family and I swear by Weaver. They simply have the best products. This fragile halter is no exception. We love the idea of a loop that allows the calf to sag when relaxed. Each of our show animals gets one of these halters!

I think this item is a good break halter

I think this item is a good break halter. What I didn't expect was that the metal clasp would break 4 days after Revain's allowed return date. Update: It has been replaced with 2 new ones. Since then, both have been used without problems.

Can cause terrible damage to your hands!

Don't waste your money, your hands hurt, slip too much (my 700lb bull even untied it with a safety binding) and if he knew he could fall me letting it go when he really wants it can cause serious damage to your hands. Not understood!

great fit and durability

We bought 2 of these to keep the halters from breaking our heifers. They withstood the pulling and binding really well. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking. The metal clip that the rope goes through helps release pressure faster when they give up and stand still.

not exactly what I expected

A bit confusing. It looked so easy on youtube that I checked it out. The first two days on my two heifers everything was fine. Day 3 - User error I'm sure - just couldn't get it right. Both heifers were used to wearing halters so the lead rope just kept up. Since we're used to it, I think I'll stick with it. Maybe I'll try it again next time.

I like this company and their products, but not this one.

I have always used these polymer rope halters to guide my dairy heifers. I was excited to try this with metal hardware. It's poorly constructed and the correct part connecting the primer keeps biting the heifer's snout. I bought another one thinking it might be defective but the second halter has the same problem. I like this company and their products, but not this one.
