🚗 Enhance In-Vehicle Signal Reception with weBoost Drive Magnetic Outside Antenna w/SMB Connector (311215) Review

The whole webboost system didn't help our T-Mobile signal at all. I am so disappointed in my purchase as I really like Wilson products. The product is of excellent quality, but I did not see any improvement in the signal.

Device size, weight, weight and connection time were better than I expected. However, the performance was disappointing. For example at a standstill. With the phone in the cradle I would get maybe 1 lane more - compared to getting out of the car I would get 2+ lanes more.

According to the description, the wire is strong enough to be enclosed in a protective film hidden in a car door. Please. That works for a while. After a week of installation on my pickup, the wire has degraded through the plastic insulation and the outer woven jacket of the coax is visible. This might work for very temporary use, but not for a long-term or permanent installation.

I don't have a roof rack, so installing the antenna included with weBoost is problematic. Using a magnetic mount antenna and a wire through the vent on the roof of my van, I got a clean setup that's almost invisible from the ground. (I disassembled the vent, found a dark spot, drilled a small hole, carefully threaded a wire through the vent, and sealed everything with some silicone.) A large antenna puts out 8dBm more than a small one, but I'm fine with that.

Works great *IF* you find a weird adapter that connects that weBoost antenna to your weBoost signal booster! I thought all weBoost parts were the same size, but they aren't. This antenna cable is slightly smaller than the antenna connector on the weBoost Drive 4G-OTR Range Extender. I would give 5 stars if a weird adapter was included. It took me half a day to find electronics stores in my town and I was very lucky to find this contraption. 😒 Once I found it it works great and now I can use it

I don't know if this works. There is no other way to find out than by looking at the stripes on your phone. My bar went up by one even after moving the antenna, but I didn't see a performance gain in anything (calling, texting, surfing, hotspot). This may or may not work. Webboost should give us the ability to determine this, in addition to having the consumer pay $500+ for a placebo effect.

I have a weBoost truck/pickup/van for our van but it comes with a limited but sturdy bracket to mount a large antenna. The bracket is used to clamp a round bar/tube about half an inch in diameter, usually on a mirror, or to replace one of the mirror bolts which our van doesn't have.
