Heavy Duty Wire Cup Brush

Seems to be very well made. Very hard work. Deducted a star because the nut is a bit flimsy and if you thread it onto the mill, good luck finding a 1 and 1/16 wrench thin enough to fit. Eventually I just used a large pair of pliers and tightened them as tight as I could. My old wire cup had a nut inside instead of a cup, so putting a socket on it was very easy.

Beware of splinters

I bought a Weiler cup brush because I heard that it was made better than others. No, the new cup brush ejects the wires just like the others. I must have had 8-10 wires stuck in my shirt after 5 minutes of work. From now on I only use twisted wire cups. If any of these wires get in your eye, you will go blind. They should ban this type of cup brush.

Works on wood too - electric brushes

I used this to repair a large log railing with a 4 inch angle grinder. I tried 4 different sizes and 3 brands of wire cup brushes. They all did an impressive job of quickly removing old weathered wood and leaving a beautiful finish before painting or staining. I have tried 3, 3.5, 4 and 5 inch brushes. The 3 inch angle grinder turned out to be the best for the four inch angle grinder. Weiler and Forney brushes have served well. The DeWalt brush broke and lost its bristles very quickly. price…

Pros
  • Abrasives and varnishes
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
