If you are a TIG welder this is a MUST!

I'm sure many welders would scratch their heads about spending money on this little dandy, but eventually all TIG welders buy them with their welder. Or companies start with new welders. It's just useful and really necessary for the welder to focus on the job without worrying about burns. This is one of the "secrets" to artistic quality welds as it allows the operator to be close.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • So-so

I'm new to TIG welding and I love it. My 5th finger remains comfortable and provides a good platform to slide over the hot work piece when welding a longer line. I'm considering getting a bigger one because my fourth finger gets fried by the IR when I'm working in a corner. The material is an amazing heat shield and I had no problems melting, burning or transferring heat. even when welding almost all the way through the bright cherry red material.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • No automatic mode

Disappointed, good for TIG welders

Don't know what I just bought B But for welding tips and tricks - Jody can walk in the sand. Why is it okay to always save money? As seen in the picture, the old battered one bought a few months ago is thick and works great. I once bought a fake that looks like something I just recently bought from WTAT. I hate being that guy but if anyone has a better suggestion please mention. I want to spend my money on a better company/product. Keep selling Furik's stuff, maybe one day you'll have a good…

Great product, nice to have, would recommend multiple times!

As a professional aluminum TIG welder, I have to say that while this product is not a must have equipment, it is definitely an amazing luxury for about 50% of the welds I do make. And it makes it a lot easier to make those welds without burning yourself. Although they will degrade with use and eventually wear out and fall apart, even at 5 days a week for several hours a day, the degradation process takes about 1.5 months. I really like this product and will try to convince my employer to buy…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities

  • Can't remember

This is not a trick. Try one in TIG welding and you'll buy more.

I love this TIG finger heat shield. At first I thought it was a gimmick but I should have known better as Jody of Welding Tips & Tricks provides them. He has done more for the amateur and professional welding community than anyone but Miller, Lincoln, Hobart or Victor. If there's no reason other than supporting this guy, you might want to try one of these finger heat shields. You will love it if you do TIG welding at all. I've also used plasma cutting when I need to stabilize the part I'm…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

game changer! for welding and soldering

As another reviewer said, this really is a game changer. At first I didn't want to buy it because I thought it would be bulky and get in the way. I was wrong! It took a minute to get used to, but it was worth it in the end. I had a project where I had to TIG weld 4-16 feet on 1/4/12 inch stainless steel for about a year and it saved my life. Not only did this make the project more efficient as I didn't have to bend down because the piece was too hot but it greatly extended the life of my…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Useless features

It works and overall a great product.

Maybe just personal preference but I don't like that the ends aren't connected end to end. Because of this, I kept adapting. Even with my ankle twisted, I couldn't get rid of this problem. It will definitely collapse and/or expand when you try to use it. There's a lot of length, but it seems so unnecessary to have such a long length when the ends can be tied and the whole thing shortened. There's also plenty of heat protection so again all the length is unnecessary. Maybe I'm doing it wrong…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some flaws
