🔌 Weller ETP Conical Soldering Tip: Compatible with PES51, WE1010NA, WES51, and WESD51 Stations Review

This is a great little tip for small projects. Works great with my Weller WES51 device. I've used it for small PCB components for guitar pedal assemblies. Nothing more to say.

This is a good all-rounder for circuit board work. The attachments have served me well on my WES50. I bought it as a replacement - a refurbished WES51 which I returned (but not for advice).

OEM Weller fits the iron perfectly. The poor FSAE boys were still using one of these devices after they were past their prime. The new one wets and warms well. A small tapered tip like this is great for fine pitch through holes and SMD components.

Although this nozzle is listed as compatible with my iron, it doesn't quite fit. It dangles a bit in the iron and wobbles when I press it against my soldered parts. My other tips work well, but this one doesn't. I found a way to route it with small copper washers, but changing them every time is impractical.

"e" series tips are much better than their cheaper counterparts from Weller, they hold up better and seem to heat up quicker which I think is due to the better metal composition. It is now correct to solder boards instead of chasing ghost holds in circuits. Parts arrived a day ahead of schedule and will be ordering replacements through Apex TG.
