Switched the dog from Grain Free Merrick to Wellness Lamb and Barley mainly because of the price (cheaper and six pounds more food). It was an overnight crossing and I didn't notice any digestive problems. She seems less hungry and let's just say I need 50% fewer bags to pick them up and they aren't that heavy. She doesn't have to have digested other foods either.

My GSP has epileptic seizures and I originally gave him purine, a lamb and rice. He drank gallons of water and it bothered him. It turned out that the salt content in this brand was very high. Did a little research and found that Wellness lamb and barley products are very low in salt. My dog is currently on phenobarbital and is eating this dog food and drinking less water than ever with any other dog food. I'm very very glad I made the switch as he loves this food.

My dog who is not usually a picky eater really hated this food. She ate all other foods while I tried to switch her to this food and leave this one. When I finally got her into this full-time job, she was barely eating and losing weight. Also, she developed a horribly smelly odor that went away fairly quickly when I replaced it with a different brand of dog food. Although I felt the ingredients seemed to be of high quality. Unfortunately, this food did NOT work for my dog.

Healthy dog food usually has a resealable lid so you can seal the bag for freshness. This bag doesn't have that considering it's the largest bag and I don't have a storage bin which is my fault. But I'm disappointed that it doesn't close, especially since I'm dealing with mice at the moment. I guess you can't resist this meal either? I've been feeding this to my dog for about 6 months now and he still loves it! I also mix homemade food for him and give him a good mix of wet and dry food. He is quite picky about his food and often gets sick from one type of food. However, he is still enjoying it after over 6 months. We tried the chicken and lamb flavor and he seems to like both! This stuff is a bit more expensive than regular dog food, but wouldn't we want our furry babies to have the very best and live happily ever after? I
