I had to clean the hole of paint before it would fit onto the gear shaft. Removing the rubber pad on the factory lever makes it firmer and eliminates play previously present.

It is much stiffer than the original shift knob. I was hoping this would solve my problem with the shifter popping out of first gear. Unfortunately it isn't. I replaced the derailleur with a short B&M derailleur and that fixed the problem. This shifter fits directly to any shifter.

I've had a jeep for six years now. Elevator, lockers, gears, bumpers, whatever. For $100 this might be the best mod. I have been a Revain customer for many years and this is my first and only review. Take it from me, buy it now. greetings vita

It's almost the same as a B&M switch but twice the price. I only gave it 4 stars because I had to tap the thread where the shift knob sits when painting it. It was a hassle to delete them, but I finally did. It also fixed some sloppiness in the shifter. I was also able to set the switch to my liking. The first choice is 1st gear and the second is 6th gear. No more long journeys while driving.

This made shifting in my 2012 JK a lot more comfortable and took a lot of dirt out of the shifter. Shifting is, dare I say, sporty and crisp. I'm glad I went this route before buying a $500 transmission. This is a fairly solid replica of a B&M derailleur and is well made. The Jeep should have come with it from the factory. It doesn't have a rubber bushing like the stock part, reducing the dead zone by at least 100%. Short travel, but by no means difficult to shift. Don't expect your Jeep to be a race car. You need a $500 B&M shifter to approach it. Other reviewers said they would have to drill out this part or use a longer retaining screw. wow i liked it. It's almost 1 inch shorter but works. I replaced my factory shifter because the factory shifter is too close to my Atlas shifter in 1st gear. But I had to heat it up and I bent it all the way straight so my arm is an Atlas shifter. So I would suggest removing the stem completely from the base as there are 4 rubber o-rings in there that will melt, when you put them on I also like the pen it came with. than a factory!
