excellent check valve but it would be more expensive.

Excellent check valve, but it would be more cost effective to find a replacement for the nitrile valve inside the assembly. I searched and searched but just couldn't find the valve.

Pros
  • Designed for in-line installation
Cons
  • So-so

It flows and does not interfere with the reflux.

This check valve is leaking. The first one was changed because I thought it was a defective product. The second leaked too. It turns out to be a bad design. This check valve consists of several wallets that are connected to each other. Needless to say, it's not waterproof.

Pros
  • Can be used with manual or electric pumps
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Failure within 24 hours

I bought this for the bilge pump outlet hose on my boat to prevent the water from the hose above the bilge pump from flowing back into the bilge. It failed within 1 day as the rubber duckbill valve deformed and would not close again. I bought and installed a second valve. It also failed within 24 hours due to a deformed duckbill valve. I then installed a competitor valve that works great.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

An effective solution to my needs

I used this to automatically drain my sailboat's bilge pump. The hose installed by the builder is 1 inch in diameter. Newer bilge pumps use 1 1/8" fittings. I have about a foot of 1 1/8" hose that curves up and out of the pump. I installed this valve vertically and it connects perfectly to the 1" hose that goes overboard. In my configuration, there is about a gallon of water in the plumbing. The valve effectively prevents water from flowing back into the bilge.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Makes water flow the wrong way

I bought this for my bilge pump because there is quite a long hose from the pump to the outlet. Without a check valve, all the water in the hose would flow back into the bilge after the pump stopped pumping. But there is a small trickle that flows in the wrong direction, rendering the check valve completely useless. This. it takes much longer, but all the water in the hose ends up back in the bilge. Shouldn't that prevent the non-return valve on the bilge pump?

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Has flaws

Barely suitable for my application

I have never fitted this valve as as you can see in the picture the valve is not closed as it comes from the factory. If there was a lot of pressure, the back pressure would be enough to close the valve and it would certainly slow the backflow, but my boat nearly sank due to the slow flow on the metal flapper valve that was supposed to replace the valve. I chose a vented hinge for the shower tray. The rest of the product looked good, at least on the outside. Both delivery and return were…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Reliability
