Whirlpool EDR3RXD1 filter was NOT filtering the water (working). I bought a Revain filter on 4/4/2020. I am installing the filter on the Whirlpool ED5FHEXV502 refrigerator. I run 4 gallons of water through the filter to get the filter working. I put three glasses of water (see photo). I leave glasses of water on the table for 1 hour to come to room temperature. As a hardworking Revainer I quit and ordered the "old" blue filter 4396810 eh was available from another source. They sent me new filters! So I tried. We bought this filter from Revain and followed all the installation instructions to fill the filter but the water tasted worse than before. Edit 06/04/18: Just installed the second of these filters with the same results as the first. The fill rate is very consistent with the first filter and the old blues. No noticeable smell or taste problems. I will order them every 6 months until I have a problem. I bought this a year ago to have on hand when my current polyurethane filter wears out. The old filter is losing flow so I tried putting that in. He doesn't get up. I pressed it really hard and it just doesn't click. To make sure I did everything right, I put the old filter back in and it snapped straight into place, no problem.
