Whiteside Straight Router Bit 1029A Review

Over 50 feet of channel for custom bookcases made from .71 cabinet plywood. The finished shelves were painted and then assembled. They fit together perfectly and the blades are still razor sharp despite having darkened from long use.

I had to buy this reluctantly as I had to cut the dato in 3/4 layers which is actually 23/32. But as soon as I used it, I IMMEDIATELY understood why so many woodworkers are talking about Whiteside beats. The ease of cutting and the very clean edges were a treat. The money is spent.

This review is more about the company than the bit itself. I bought this bit to cut Dado and it made perfect clean cuts. Eventually I ran into some breakaway issues and contacted Whiteside. It was ultimately user error and the company was very helpful in teaching me proper usage (for those interested, mostly slower speeds (20k) and higher feeds). I can't say enough about the company - they stand behind their products 100% and do everything they can to support their customers. Thank you Gala!
