I prefer using Whiteside, CMT or Amana bits. They are more expensive but last longer and cut much cleaner than cheap bits. You can get an extra clean cut by cutting in multiple passes rather than cutting through a ton of wood in one go. This shortens the life of the blade.
I'm gradually swapping out my cheap router supplies for better parts. The difference is outstanding. These bits hold an edge like no other and are extremely durable. The packaging and presentation are also excellent. I have no doubt that they will last a lifetime, making it easy for me to swallow the expense.
Made in USA. I have used the Whiteside #2710 combo head in the past and have been very happy with its performance. The 1/4" R performance was just as good. Bought an extra 1/8" R bit and carved a place for it in the large case that came with it. If my budget allows, will only do Whiteside beats from now on used.
