Perfect for my needs

I recently switched TV providers and my headset wasn't working with my new set-top box. So I called the manufacturer of my headset (Sennheiser) and spoke to one of their techs and he went to Revain and found this switch for me. I bought it, when it arrived I called Sennheiser tech support and we set it up in less than 5 minutes. Now my headset works great with my new TV box.

Pros
  • Hands-free
Cons
  • Almost never

This device helped us connect our wireless headphones to our new TV.

We have Sennheiser wireless headphones for use with a TV. I just bought a new TV and there was no option to connect headphones. Called Sennheiser and they recommended this WiiStar device. It works like a dream. There were some issues connecting it up, but the Sennheiser service technician knew exactly what to do. Great little device and worth the money.

Pros
  • An absolute legend

  • Something different

Great solution, best in Accessories & Consumables

I have old Sennheiser headphones that I use to watch TV with no sound so my wife can read in peace. Worked great with the old LG, but the new Samsung TV only has an optical audio out, not suitable for headphones. I was told by a person at Best Buy and another independent installer that I was unlucky. I was ready to return the TV, but a Sennheiser service rep suggested this decoder. Works great. There is a click and a momentary drop in sound when I change channels, but I'm sure I can handle it…

Great for new TVs without composite audio output

Six year old TV was struck by lightning and most new TVs DO NOT have internal audio splitters. If you have someone in your family who is "hearing impaired" and needs to listen to music at different volumes, you need an audio splitter like this WiiStar. This allows me to listen at a low volume through the soundbar while my wife can listen at a higher volume through her Sennheiser Flex 5000 headset. This splitter allows us to independently change the volume or mute the sound. A NOTICE. Technical…

Good device, but bad cable included.

I connected a soundbar to the TV's only output with a Toslink cable (fiber optic cable). Due to my wife's hearing loss, I bought a wireless headset with individual volume controls so we didn't have to fight for volume while still using the soundbar. The device didn't work at first and I found that the Toslink cable was the culprit. I sent it back to Revain for a replacement but had the same issue. Revain tech support then sent me a separate (better quality) toslink cable and now it works as…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Everything is great

My TV only has an optical audio output in addition to the built-in speakers. I needed this as a simple solution to power my existing wireless headphones and connect the optical output to my stereo optical input. I didn't need a 3:1 switch on the front, but I see it can be useful in many cases. I could buy a single channel optical RCA jack, but then I'd also need an optical splitter to power both my headphone box and stereo. My Sony stereo does not have RCA line outputs when powered from an…

The switch works, but? on Accessories & Consumables

This device works as advertised but there is an annoying popping noise when browsing Netflix, Roku Hulu etc. There is a loud popping noise when switching from show to show. Description displayed on the main screen. The clicking sound (much louder) also occurs when I select a movie or series to watch. I operate this device in my computers with a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound sound card. The problem could be with my new 75" LG TV. I can disable the sound card and use the TV speaker without…

WORKS WITH SAMSUNG SMART TV

MY Samsung SMART TV ONLY HAS ONE AUDIO OPTICAL OUTPUT FOR SOUND. After reading feedback on various headphones, I discovered this adapter to solve this problem. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS PLUG ONE END OF THE OPTICALLY ILLUMINATED PLUG INTO THE TV AND THE OTHER END TO THE FRONT OF IT AND THEN PLUG MY RED AND BLACK PLUG FROM THE WIRELESS EARPHONES INTO THE RED AND WHITE PORT ON THE BACK OF THE TV . VEIL. PERFECT SOUND AND I JUST HAVE TO TURN ON THE HEADPHONES. WHEN I TURN OFF THE TELEVISION THE SOUND…

Clicks and Clicks/Good Price

Samsung 7 series TVs connect easily to the product and then to an older Sony receiver via the product's optical output jack, Sennheiser wireless headphones via the headset jack and compact Bose Cinemate speakers that can be connected using only the red and white RCA connectors. The sound is better than an old non-smart HDTV in every way. But the Bose speakers clapped loudly at every pause in the input signal, so I hooked up several Klipsch speakers to the receiver. The loudspeakers controlled…
