🔧 Williams S-52A Ratchet with Round Head Review

Great stuff, like it, like it, seems like a good build quality, slightly different from the older S-52 but we'll see how it holds up

Love it. Made in the USA and looks solid. Very tight tolerances for a ratchet at this price. I took it apart and saw an o-ring on each side. Therefore it is a sealed ratchet. probably survive me

This is a very nicely made ratchet, good performance, low reverse resistance, much better than cheap imported stuff. Great value for money, slightly more expensive than imported items but made in the USA and excellent quality. Manufactured by Snap On.

Overall I am satisfied with the ratchet. The 5° angle is much better than the 10° angle and the knurl and "feel" is good. Personally I would have preferred it to be a little shorter, but the only complaint as such is FJPaski's point that "the socket lock spring ball does NOT have a knob to lock the socket in place". not a defect per se, but definitely a quality I'll guarantee with future ratchet purchases.

I really like this ratchet. Used it in a workshop for the last few months and rated it as a quality ratchet with a great feel and smooth operation. I would recommend this ratchet as a great addition to any tool kit. Williams makes quality instruments and these have now become my favorites. Recently purchased other tools from Williams and was impressed with the quality of their hand tools for the price.

I ordered this USA made *premium* ratchet to retire my 40 year old handyman, but unfortunately he won't be. While I have a pen with something preferring a grippy texture, the knurling on this pen is extremely deep, sharp and rough on the hand. It is extremely uncomfortable to hold and will make a virtually impossible dirt trap to clean. Also important to me, the retaining spring retaining ball has NO button, to lock the socket in.
