Avoid this item for satellite dishes

Unacceptable quality issues. I bought 2 of these and they both have the same problem that other users have reported. They are almost impossible to fix on a satellite signal. The block sits there and clicks continuously, like the plastic gears are grinding inside. Considering the price and the name, Winegard and Dish should be ashamed to bring this product to market. They must be taken off the market as defective and discontinued. Don't waste your time and money on this poor thing.

Easy to connect! for TV and video

It was an extremely simple connection. We had a spare bowl receiver that we hooked off the top of the TV that we weren't using. We didn't go for the RV package but are very happy with the results. All "our" channels are on their way, in less than 5 minutes. Our only complaint is that the length of the cable (included) isn't usually long enough to pick up a signal as we mostly camp in wooded areas. A travel system should include 50 to 75 feet of cable to give you satellite coverage wherever you…

Very easy to install and works great

I installed the bowl on my 2005 Fleetwood Discovery motorhome and it was surprisingly easy to mount it on the roof using the hardware that was ordered separately. The product works great, it tunes in to HD channels and automatically finds the satellite. If you are replacing an existing satellite dish, keep in mind that the PL-7000 antenna is powered by a coaxial cable and does not require a separate power line to connect. Since the dish uses multiple satellites, I particularly like that the…

Works well when set up correctly

I received this item on time, however, even after prolonged contact with Winegard and Dish, I could not connect to my RV's Dish Joey. In the end it was decided that my device was defective. I contacted Camper's Paradise and they immediately sent a replacement before I returned the original unit. To my chagrin, I ran into the exact same issues. Dish contacted me in honor of Pace Int'l, the maker of the Joey, who successfully guided me through factory resetting the Joey and a successful run. What

Cable 75ft MAX: Satellite dishes

We have had nothing but signal loss since purchasing this unit. Keep in mind that we bought this for our RV and there are some trees on the property we are now on so the unit had to be sited about 75 feet apart. Using 100 feet of shielded direct coax cable from the playmaker to Wally, we were unable to get a signal. It hung for a few seconds and then turned off. I changed the coax cable to the 50 foot cable that connects to the Type F connector and to the 25 foot cable that the playmaker came…

Choose this one and you won't regret it

This product is great. I bought it to replace a royal trucker that would take forever to dive into satellites if he could find them. When I called King, they wanted $350 just to look at him, plus round-trip shipping, plus parts, and $85 an hour of labor. The playmaker was easy to set up. I had no problems. I was able to use the "in" cable on the outside of my caravan and plug the receiver in with the onboard wiring. I started the syncing process. Didn't take 10 minutes, had all 3 satellites…

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

So far so good!: Satellite dish

***UPDATE*** I've had my Playmaker for about two months now. With Tailgater, thick clouds can lead to a complete failure. Sometimes I lost the insurance for no reason. With the Playmaker I had perfect coverage even in moderate snow and rain. I haven't seen heavy rain yet. So far very satisfied. *** I bought this to replace the Tailgater 2 which I have discontinued. So far this antenna is much better than the tailgate. It makes a little more noise when tuned, but then it's quiet. In fact, it's…

Really great buy at a good price.

I bought this to replace my Winegard G2 which was still working fine after 7 years. This Playmaker is a bit smaller and I needed a device that would fit in my Winnebago View storage boxes. That was excellent. I didn't think it would perform as well as my old G2 but was surprised when I tested it. It had better reception than my old G2 and the signal strength was strong on all satellite dishes. Over 40 on all three birds. I use Wally Receiver because of the small space in my new Winnebago View…
