Great device for the price, works very well however when it rains and the water covered motion sensor gets wet it doesn't detect any movement. When it's dry and the motion sensor is clean, it works great. Otherwise I would recommend it to everyone.

Another review that complained that the device wasn't weatherproof was noticed. The part you place by the driveway is weatherproof. The alarm (the part that goes into your house) doesn't work. Install it about 60 feet from your driveway and it will work. Better value than purchasing the same unit from Harbor Freight. Requires 1 9V battery and 3 C batteries.

bought this because our old one stopped working. wanted to put batteries in the base unit but when i opened it the screw was striped and i couldn't open it. I had to fiddle around a bit to figure out how to get it out. Not sure if it was a returned item, a resale, or just a factory defect, but a 5 minute setup turned into 45 minutes.

I bought one of these a few months ago and am really very impressed. Can't say the distance from the sensor to the base is 400ft, but for the price it's good. I wasn't aware that deer and bears roam the property until we were introduced to them several times. It's amazingly durable. I'm at the beach and we have good squalls hitting like crazy. Many times a block I just sat on the surface has blown out halfway to the driveway, but damn I was able to put it back on and it worked like a champ…
