Good product. Good for electronics

This is a good product, it does exactly what it is supposed to do at a fair price and with use for a while it seems to hold up. So. why 4 stars? They should really put something in the package to let people know that the plug should be cap-side up so rainwater doesn't collect inside. The first time I used it I took the lid off and found it full of water. When I started threading the leash through the clutch pin mount to keep it upright, it didn't happen again. So 4 stars if someone can't show…

No water protection

After less than 6 months of use, I noticed that the plug that was supposed to protect was badly rusted. Obviously not protected from water. In the past 4 years without a case, the worst thing I've had has been slight oxidation on the contacts. This coating made the situation much worse because it obviously allowed water to pass through but not evaporate, leading to corrosion. Keep in mind that I live in the desert and it rarely rains so it doesn't feel like a high humidity environment. If you…

Fits perfectly! Very EASY installation!

This cover fits my trailer socket perfectly and is easy to fit. This case works exactly as described. Do not believe the negative reviews and comments about the complexity of the installation. Some have said, and even provided photos, that they couldn't put it on a fork, so they just zipped the cap shut. Someone even said they removed the entire cable and then put a cap on that end. I'm literally bursting with laughter! To install, simply slide one half of the open circle onto the fork and hold

Quality connector protector

Picky mechanical engineer: This is a quality part. A very strong piece of polymer. Stretch the ring like a rubber band, plug it onto the 7-pin connector, it will shrink to its original size to hold trailer wiring in place. The protective cap then fits snugly over your 7 pin connector and the keyway fits the connector itself and protects your metal connections fairly well. There is also a clip that fits over the wire cable to hold the end cap in place while cruising down the road. If you look…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Slightly torn

The fork is secure and I love that it has a built in clip to clip to the trailer fork when not in use. One thing you need to understand is that the bracket (the plastic tab with the circle on it) that comes out of the fork doesn't fit on the trailer fork itself. To install this properly you will need to disconnect the trailer cable from the trailer, then run the cable through the circle and reattach it. Most people will not want to do this. When you install a new line. This is when you want to…

Hang Directly On RV Parts & Accessories

A few years ago we bought the "81497 Husky Connector Cover Kit" sold at Revain. Husky's design is a bifurcated bracket that keeps the "open end up" connector hidden under a small overhanging shroud. Cleverly, the windy rain still found its way under the covers. In addition, the open plug can hold back penetrating moisture. Good news. quick operation made it the perfect match for this WirthCo Eng cap. Photo shows a WirthCo capped connector hung on a Husky mount with the hood removed. By not…

Be careful, use common sense

As previously reported, they work great if you follow two simple guidelines. you have to make it flexible. I took and heated a cup of water in the microwave like I was making tea (2 minutes max). I took and put the end of the ring in a cup of hot water for about 1-2 minutes. Pulled out and pulled on the fork with no problem. Total time to put it on the fork was about 10 seconds after it warmed up and became flexible. Secondly, please understand that the fork with the lid should NOT be stored…

Bad reviewers don't know how to use it. READ

Fits great and works exactly as advertised. If you dangle it in the down position, it will fill with water, hold water, ruin the cork and prove you're an idiot. You must use it with a tongue lifter mount or other device that will keep it upright when closed and not in use. If you have enough common sense to understand this, ignore the negative reviews. I especially like that it attaches to the cord during use instead of dangling during transport. In addition, the ring at the end of the cord is…
