I wanted to add a water cage and carry my air pump in the same place so it doesn't get in the way of my peddling. The component pushes out one side about 2/3 (two-thirds) out, which is perfect for the air pump and water cage. Both will of course stand out a bit, but after a test drive that didn't bother at all.
