🪓 WD401 Large Wood Hone Strop - Ideal for Superior Sharpening Review

Mine wasn't quite flat. It has permanent dents and one corner is dented quite badly. Looks like it wasn't saved or kindly sent. So far it seems to be working fine. I'm just a little disappointed in his $25 net worth.

This item has a shell that prevents my knife from working with this tool for a long time. I can still use it by dragging the knife from the center to the edge. You have to do it at an angle so as not to fall into the sling. I will not buy this product again nor will I recommend it. Extremely limited usage.

My first lanyard. I use it daily for my Spyderco and other folders to keep them sharp. It's more than you think I'm grateful for. I like kitchen knives and they are big enough to fit an 8 inch chef's knife. I wasn't sure about synthetics, but it looks like leather could easily outlive it. FYI, it has a rounded edge but I don't know how to use it properly. My wife thinks I'm crazy if I pull out all my knives and walk away while watching a movie, but it's very meditative and easy.

Amazing sling compared to leather. I like the extra features for Notches, Vtool, Vieners. I like powdered aluminum oxide and it really helps get a wire edge on carving knives, takes time on rocks, especially with a new knife you have to do it to properly cut wood and not snap it from bluntness. Knives are sharp from the factory, but not as sharp as with a wire blade. I'm not interested in wax sling mass because it turns out smooth and non-abrasive. Sharpening my kitchen knives before each use has made them MUCH more effective. For example, today I just grilled a 2.5 pound pork tenderloin. Once that was done, I brought it in and "let it sit" for 15 minutes. During that time, I grabbed my carving knife, sharpened it on this plastic trail, and quickly rinsed it in the sink. This grinder is a nice solid addition to my sharpening tool collection. Here are a few important points: 1. This is not a leather grinder. It has a rubber or silicone surface that is perfectly flat. This should actually help with the polishing process as it is actually flatter than leather as it has very little texture. The lack of texture is a little odd to me.
