It's possible that the block I received has a defect as it doesn't exactly match the product photos, but the edge of the ruler definitely doesn't go through the center of the circle. It is offset by 3 mm. Wow. Whether it's a design flaw or a manufacturing flaw, it's hard to meet such a big fool. Look elsewhere folks.

Well done. Finds the center of a round stock up to 5/16 inch. It is important to tighten the set screw (possibly finger tight) to ensure accuracy. A wider (1/16 inch) ruler than the one provided will do, but not a narrower one - the magnet will hold it, but the set screw cannot be tightened to secure the narrower ruler.

My trusty 6" combo angle is worn out so I'm looking for a multi tool to replace it. 90 degree accuracy is questionable. With a baseline that short, if someone gets even slightly distracted while drawing the line at a 90-degree angle, you could be wrong. Finding the center is fine, but the ruler is good. But I need something more reliable.

The magnetic ruler holder is convenient, it allows for easy conversion from US to metric and the powerful magnet holds the ruler securely. Once installed, the hand-tight handle grips the ruler securely. It also makes storage easy and convenient. I found it very accurate, it made my measurements more accurate and much quicker to read when working with tubes, pipes and rods.

The ruler doesn't match the center line so it's not a very good center finder. I had markings on the ruler in millimeters on one side and 0.5mm on the other, which isn't that scary. Apart from the poor workmanship, the material seems to be good. Unfortunately I have to send it back because it doesn't work as expected.

As you can see in the attached photo it is clearly off-centre. However, if you mark it like I did, you can still find the center with the square you see in the middle. You don't have to do this, and it's very disappointing that it's not centered. It also makes me question every positive five star review. This type of instrument needs to be made to precise specifications and dimensions, and they all need to be exactly the same. If so, they'll all be off-center, and there's no excuse for that.

When this center finder arrived I figured I could just assemble it, mark the center of my circle and all would be fine. However, after the first use, I found that they did NOT match exactly. After using it twice, I found that the lines didn't intersect, which is necessary to find the center. This means that the ruler built into the device is not exactly square.
