Good product, suitable for power tools and hand tools

Bought a dowel tool to make a large wooden storage box. Worked great and made aligning the pins and holes a lot easier. Costs money.

American bits, metric sockets!

Includes 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 drill bits. But the bracket has holes for the socket 6, 8 and 10 mm. The bits 5/16 and 3/8 sit very sloppy in the sockets.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Poor repairability

Inaccurate description. Will NOT fit 3/8 "

The bits provided are metric and do not match the US sizes in the product description. 6mm, 8mm and 10mm will not convert to 5/16" or 3 /8" convert 3/8 dowel into the 10mm hole and it was even tight.

  • Impressive

A VERY cheap domino alternative from Festool.

This product does the job. The only negative I can offer is the inability to pinch it to free your hand and deliver a clean, straight drill. If you're drilling into hardwood with one hand, you're almost certainly drilling a slanted hole. Since you can't pinch it, the holes won't line up exactly either.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • The list goes on.

Melted after a few days on hardwood but seems ok for lighter work

I think this fixture would work great on softwood but I've used it on hardwood planks. As it was more difficult to drill, I had to bolt the frame on to hold it in place, which worked until the drill dulled and all the extra heat melted the case, rendering it virtually unusable for 24 hours of arrival . Still gave 4 stars as I think it would be good for light use on softer woods.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Damaged

Not at all correct: Power tool parts and accessories

There are protruding plastic labels with hole sizes that prevent the tool from correctly seating on the edge of the panel. Even after removal, the tool has nothing to hold onto the edge of the board and it will shift without you noticing until you put in the wood joints when it's too late. I bought it for a job and got two of the holes lined up adequately, the other four were poor. It was cheap but still not worth the hassle of using it.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Negative imprint

Good device with pros and cons

Preface: Although I returned this product because it did not meet my specific needs, it still had some advantages compared to the Milescraft 1319 Jointmate that I bought in my place would have. PRO: This device has a longer stop that makes it easier to insert. It also has a ruler on the side of the jig for quicker stop setting. CONS: Stop adjustment screws are not as easy to adjust as Milescraft knobs. Milescraft has a center guide instead of a ruler on the side of this jig, which I prefer. The

Great for money. Must go through many dowel holes.

I'm only giving five stars because it's a great tool for the money. They make $200+ tools that do the job more precisely, but for me this was the perfect solution. It's actually well made for a piece of plastic (although the holes are lined with steel)! I built a great jewel. a drawer with about 15 drawers about 20 years ago but never installed a record on it. Not sure why but I didn't. He just sat there! With this tool I was able to drill holes for dowels in the top and bottom and finally…
