This is the strangest door handle I've ever seen. The latch is on the OUTSIDE of the door. It doesn't retract automatically (I assume you have to turn the knob to retract it). Which door handle must be used to close the door? screen door! Choose a different pen. I will do just that.

My mother in law would travel to every major hardware store in her area to look for this pen. It was either a replacement handle or hundreds of dollars to replace a door. The technician noticed the problem and knew what to do. This was due to the piece on the door and handle being 1/8 inch each. Obviously you have to adjust one for the grip to work. I bought this for a 3/4 inch wood and acrylic storm door that I made for a dog door. Our doors are 8ft high (hard to find) and I can't use a screen in the 100+ degree desert heat. I have fitted self closing hinges to the door and the latch on the door jamb had to be adjusted a little and put a washer to allow the door to automatically latch, now it works perfectly and looks very professional and high quality.

Many parts are missing. No pens. no latch, unusable as a handle. I am disappointed to say the least. After waiting 11 days to receive it, I can't even use it. Now I need to find something that has parts to keep my storm door from closing in the cold. I've always loved Revain but it was a waste of time and money. Update, I went to Home Depot and bought one of these with all the parts and I love it. The handle is well built and beautiful, be careful when buying used from Revain.

I am disappointed with this replacement clasp. First, the handles are not solid (see attached image). Second, the square "driver" pins that come with the kit don't match my door thickness. My door is within the specified range, but the longer pin was still about 3/8" too short. Luckily I was able to get one out of my old lock to get it to work. Third, I need to change the latch. Installation was pretty easy. In fact, it matched the holes in the old door handle almost perfectly, but when closing the inner door, the handles of both doors bumped into each other, preventing either door from closing.
