I crashed this thing in my off grid/solar emergency at home. Runs on 460 Ah at 12 V (4 x 6 V GC batteries). Powered by cable 2/0 2 feet long. It conforms to specification. Runs my forced air heater (high efficiency), runs my sump pumps, computers, small fridge/freezers and runs my large parallel fridge at 200A peak current. 4 stars is just a protest against GFI which can cause performance issues depending on the species you connect with the devices in your house (I ended up removing the GFI in…

Only worked 4 months.

I ordered this inverter in January, installed it in February, today I wanted to turn it on and NOTHING. It doesn't even come in. I have power from my battery, but a $400 inverter will do absolutely nothing. I think the company should replace this item, it's too much money to spend and only use 4 months of it. Update July 27, 2018 New with us. The new one works great and the company's customer service is amazing. I believe they care about their customers and believe in their product. Great…

It worked then and it works now.

I bought this unit in 2016 and used it on a hike a few times a month and it worked as expected. But recently she installed it in her new Promaster van and then headed to camp. In the middle of the first day I lost food. The device turned on and charged via USB, but there was no AC output. Now that I'm pretty knowledgeable about stuff like this I figured I'd open it up since it was out of warranty. and what to do, you know. The neutral wire was hanging loose and I could see it was never attached

Good inverter suitable for starters, chargers and mobile power packs

We had the 1000 watt version of the ProWatt SW for two years and liked it but decided to replace it with a more powerful 2000 watt block (actually 1800 continuous watts) so we could use our coffee maker and microwave when camping overnight (dry camping without a plug) in our Montana. I installed it on our lithium battery pack with master switch and 250 amp switch using about 4 feet of 3/0 wire. I tested by running our 8 cup coffee maker and although my Trimetric battery monitor showed it…

Worked well for 36 hours

UPDATE: I've been using it in our RV for 50 weeks now. We work full time and that includes running our computers, flat screen TVs and mixers on a daily basis. Never had a problem. Before I doubled our battery it was pretty dodgy in the microwave but it was a power issue. When I connect a single 110 volt LED, it flickers slightly, but nothing else shows the problem. I don't have to say much about the company's customer service yet, but with the support of Revain, it's a great thing. device is…

Great, with the right connection.

Installed in marine applications. I have a Sea Ray 29 and was looking for an AC solution when not connected to shore power. In between was a small gas generator (Honda 2000). Having friends with gas generators, despite being quiet, I couldn't imagine relaxing in the background. Connected to 3x 31M deep cycle 100Ah batteries in series and 3ft 0 gauge connectors and a 250A fuse as recommended by the manufacturer, this inverter was able to power my fridges, cabin fans, cell phones etc that plug…

Reliably powers CPAP machines, electronics, coffee makers, small power tools, microwave ovens and is ideal for boats, RVs, work trucks or commercial vehicles.

Very impressed with this inverter.

I recently converted a 5 x 10 enclosed trailer into a travel trailer and was looking for a small pure sine wave inverter to run a small fridge off two recycled wheelchair batteries while I had no shore power. After LOTS of online research I settled on Xantrex as they have good reviews and are reasonably priced. The PROWatt 2000 inverter (model #806-1220) arrived on time and was as described. The product was very well packaged, undamaged and with all accessories to make installation quick and…

Pros

Difficult to install under heavy load

In the reviews I see several complaints about problems with high load applications of this inverter. I bought this about a year ago to use for the solar powered air conditioner in my RV. I ended up getting it to work and the issues I had were unrelated to the inverter (which supplied a constant 1500W load and handled the AC start burst once I got everything else working). First the wiring: everything will tell you that 4 gauge should be more than enough: even close by. I tried 4 gauge. Then I…

Pros
  • EASY INSTALLATION: The DC connections are conveniently located on the back of the inverter. Screws and nuts included. Installation requires a minimum of tools.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
