Great for Arduino projects

I've ordered these Xbees several times for different projects. I've used them with SeeedStudio UartSBee v4 and they work great. I've also used the larger Arduino XBee screen with mixed results. You will need some kind of extra adapter as a 20 pin Xbee module will not fit on a breadboard as the pins are too close together. You will also need Digi's XCTU software running on my Mac with OS X 10.7 (and earlier) to set up Xbee. I have used this with Arduino Uno, Mega and Yun and am sure it will work

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Minor issues

It was exactly as described.

They are very reliable and easy to use. Note that when using S2c modules in a network with Series 1 modules, you must ensure that they are running the same firmware version. I am currently using firmware version 802.15.4 on Series 1 modules and version 802.15.4HT on the S2c module. Updating the firmware is very easy with the XCTU utility provided by DIGI, which is also used to set up the radio. S2c radios come with a different firmware version that is not compatible with Series 1 radios.

Pros
  • Network antennas
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Easy communication support

Bought 2 of these to experiment and they worked the first time. Not the cheapest wireless tool, but easy to set up and use. I haven't experimented with the built in pins, but they have the potential to perform some of the tasks I plan to do without additional hardware, which could raise 4 stars to 5. Requires Windows based XCTU tool for initial installation and firmware upgrade (both were configured as routers so I had to change one to coordinator) but that was easy.

Pros
  • Computers and accessories
Cons
  • No paint required
