Came with batteries and installed with no problems. It recognized the Toshiba TV and gave me screen codes to set it up. Yes, it has been renovated. I could see it when I opened the battery cover. Outwardly it looks better than my old one.

This is the best remote control for Comcast. I got one without voice control when I installed my second TV and I've missed it. I like the fact that it lights up when you pick it up, although that makes it a "battery hog". I just have to remember not to hold it and wave it around.

this remote replaces another xfinity which eventually broke after a few years of use. after unpacking everything was ready. Update Bought two remote controls as spares. One works great and the other doesn't connect to a TV but works with the Xfinity box. Works XR5 v4-R. The only one that doesn't is the XR5. The big difference between these versions is how easy they are to program. Have now contacted the seller with an offer to exchange or return the money.
