I don't know how someone with braided pigtails can be a professional swimmer. The scythes are very heavy and cause a lot of drag. The lid has done its job, to say the least. It was big enough to put all of my daughter's braids in, but we didn't keep the braids long because it took her a lot longer.

I swim 2-3 times a week and have sister strains that I've been growing for 6 years. The cap minimizes the amount of water getting into my hair. Some water can seep in from the back, so I spritz my hair with a leave-in conditioner before capping. But for the most part the hat works great, especially with my amount of hair.

The best swimming cap for those who wear long dreadlocks. My dreadlocks are over 3ft long and this cap fits me perfectly. The cap often rides back while swimming which means you have to keep checking to make sure it's on properly, but I agree that my hair is not only long and thick, it's also very heavy. I think this is the best swimming cap on the market. I am very happy with this purchase. money well spent.

Very disappointed with this product. I have a medium length Havana so I needed a cap that would keep my hair relatively dry and hold that amount of hair. This product did neither. Water kept collecting in the lid. I would have to pull the sides of the lid to drain the water. The lid didn't close at all. Eventually the hat gave way and fell off me. For the price I expected better quality.

It's been a long time since I swam underwater because of my hair. On vacation I sometimes wear extensions sewn in, and for a long time the need to be nice outweighed the desire to swim. Finally, because this swim cap has enough space, it covers my entire head/hair. Virtually no water gets into the canopy when I'm completely submerged. It depends on how well I use the cap. I can finally enjoy my vacation to the fullest without having to sacrifice my looks. Thank you!

I like this swimming cap. Initially when I used it in the water it kept slipping. I contacted the seller and they asked if I use hair oils and I said yes, well the instructions say not to use hair oils which is difficult for me because I have curly hair. Anyway the company said they would refund my money but since I like this cap I decided to give it another try. Very happy with this swim cap. I have long locks and that fits with room to spare. I definitely recommend this item. Update: Bought in April 2016 and used in summer 2016 and 2017. A few days ago (7-1-18) I put it on and it broke. and it doesn't work anymore. My hair is probably down to my waist, a few inches longer than when I first wrote this review.
