Check the metal gauge for the recommended size for using pliers.

I use it for punching holes in metal strips. The metal is sometimes superimposed but goes through normally. More than a hundred holes and the number keeps growing. Note: Metal is a recommended size for hole punches.

They only worked on one project.

They only worked for one project, I used them to drill a hole in soft sheet metal and after that they stopped working to punch holes. They're described as good for thin metal, but they've only worked once and I've had to buy a new pair from the hobby store.

What I needed for a small project

Excellent value for money. I only use this occasionally for random projects, like making ghosts out of tin cans. It's holding up well and continues to perform as expected. I am very happy. Not sure if it will hold up to everyday/commercial use, but it's perfect for the DIY enthusiast who tinkers with it for fun.
