This lock is nothing more than a deterrent. It cuts very easily (which happened which resulted in my bike being stolen). If you look at the cross section of the cut cable you will see that it is mostly plastic with thin metal wires. Don't take this lock if you need real security.

I would never recommend this lock. Both my bike and my husband's bike were stolen. The thief easily cut it and left it on the ground. Please don't buy this lock if you love your bike. If I could give this castle 0 stars I would. Lost over $1,000 due to seemingly fake reviews :(

This lock was easy to install with my own combination and the clip fitted my bike perfectly. The cable inserts easily but holds very well, I'm not afraid of it falling off. This is quite a thick cable that will at least make it difficult for the most motivated criminals to cut, which will hopefully force them to switch bikes. I recommend it.

We bought 3 of these locks before the trip to protect our bikes while we were away. We woke up one morning to find that someone had tried to cut open one of the bike locks during the night. They pierced the outer shell and managed to break some of the inner wires, but there were still many wires they couldn't pierce. We were very impressed with how well the lock worked! When we got home, we immediately ordered a replacement lock for our next trip.

I REALLY understand that this lock is for deterrence only and is likely to be easily picked. But like I said, I think it's a good buy. I live in a nice area and I'm hoping that a simple scare system will suffice. While I like the color options, I went with black/grey.
