Does not fit standard argon bottle threads.

The tread spacing is correct, but the large and small diameter are too large, you can only screw in 1/4 turn. It's hard to tell how well it works unless you can screw it in. I sent it back and chose Victor.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • band

Great for the price and works well

Works great for the price to be able to control the flow to my nitrox wand. I use it instead of a sweat regulator because I can see the output flow (I set it to around 40mL/min). I have a more accurate Dwyer flow meter to dial the flow down to around 14.5mL/min to get a 32% mix on my wand.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Will not fit all

4th time charm? NO!

4 Attempts to buy and use those idiotic valves. Revane wouldn't even trade her again. They all joined forces. I ended up buying a new tank seat for $12 and swapping it out for that crap. Got another leak at the tank level sensor assembly. All of these are apparently defects that were rejected and the gaskets and joints were taped together without us. 4 defective valves in a row? Come on Bezeldufus

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Little things

QC?: Welding and Soldering

Looks good but when I tried to install it on my CO2/Argon tank it didn't fit. The specification for the CGA 580 fitting is 0.960 for the outside diameter of the male thread. As you can see in the picture the one I got was .970. Not having much time and not wanting to return it I had to spend some time with my micrometer and sandpaper to get the fit and no doubt a little out of shape. I got it to work but it shouldn't and that makes me doubt the rest of the controller as well.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Protector 580 does not fit. Bad quality control.

The part where the text screws into the bottle doesn't actually screw into the bottle I thought it did would be an isolated case so i ordered a replacement and the replacement came with the exact same problem then i had to go to 2 different weld shops to find the part i needed over 12 miles away and $15 for a new part pay which I would bring home, tension and replace.Otherwise I have had no problems but judging by the reviews I think this is a recent problem.. First photo is of new part, second

Pros
  • 2. Accurate Gas Sensor: The square flow tube reads 0 to 60 CFH, indicated by a ball moving up and down the flow tube. And has a large 1 1/2" gauge that reads from 0 to 4000 psi Easy to read, accurate
Cons
  • Unfashionable

The argon regulator does not fit argon or argon/co2 cylinders.

I took this regulator to the local welding shop and asked them to test it on their argon tanks. This was after trying the first regulator I bought and the second regulator I received after returning the first on my own argon and argon/carbon dioxide tank. In total they didn't fit 4 different tanks we tried them on. The threads look messed up and the fitting is too big for the tank valve. I have paid a lot more for a Victor branded regulator but it works great. I wish this yes welding controller

Pros
  • 5th version: Combination regulator and flow meter in one unit
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Look elsewhere for Gas Regulator

Some issues with this regulator: 1) Something is wrong with the threads used to attach the regulator to the bottle. Despite my best efforts to make sure I didn't mix up the threads, they didn't intertwine. The adapter has thread markings and fits well with another regulator I had screwed into my bottle. I changed the nut from a good regulator to this one to make it work. 2) At this point I noticed that the gauge read 2000psi even when it was unplugged! Damn. 3) I have a welder, yes, that came…

Pros
  • 1. Wide Application: Has a CGA-580 tank fitting so it screws directly into Argon, Argon/CO2 tanks. Ideal choice for MIG TIG welding, chemicals and electronics
Cons
  • Not sure
