works as it should. soldered and fluxed

I ran out of solder and needed a spare spool to complete the project. For soldering small PCBs it is best to use small gauge solder < 1mm, so I would recommend the largest gauge. It was a good product at a low price/performance ratio.

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: integrated rosin core with pre-fluxed flux; No mess when applying rosin flux; Good electrical and thermal conductivity; Compatible with most soldering irons and equipment;
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Long live lead solder!

Pros:✔️ Works about the same as MG Chemicals 60/40/2% RA solder but half the price✔️ Melts at lower temperatures than lead-free solder ➡ Longer iron tip life and easier processing✔️ The 2% rosin core is good enough for soldering clean surfaces without the need for external flux✔️ The 0.8mm diameter is great for SMT work. Cons: ❌ Although significantly cheaper than Kester and co, it's still quite expensive for an unknown brand ❌ The RA core leaves significant residue that you may need to scrape…

Pros
  • WIDE APPLICATION: Rosin core solder is designed for household work, DIY, electrical repairs such as repairing radio, TV, VCR, stereo, cable, motor, circuit board and other electronic devices.
Cons
  • disappears

Soldering OK, use 300C+

This works fine and I had no problem resoldering some of the wires on the (used) 15 pin connector. The solder tended to stick together at lower temperatures (or directly when touching a cold wire), but increasing the temperature of my soldering iron from 300C to 325C helped. I will find that at higher temperatures small puffs of smoke would fly off my iron tip when I first touched the solder - I assume I evaporated the flux but I never noticed spatter so I'm not worried. I had no electrical…

Exactly what the doctor ordered.

I'm doing some guitar modifications like changing pickups and I need a very fine fluxed solder for the core and that's what the doctor ordered. Because it's so thin, it's a small package with lots of solder. I usually like to use the flux as a separate component when soldering wires. I dip it in flux and then solder it, but with the guitar components, which is tantamount to sloppy work. Connecting the ground to the back of the potentiometer or even connecting the sensor wires to the spade…

Worked well, held connections and sounded electrical

I have used this 0.8mm solder roll on several smart home sensor mounting projects. It worked well, doing its job just as well as my better known branded versions of a similar build. The river is nice and smooth. I checked the tension on my points and I had no problems or irregularities with any of them. I also find that all the points held up even when the board was accidentally dropped and caught on the wires before it hit the ground. At this point I was safe using this reel for other…

quality lot!

I usually buy a spool of Kester solder, 66 core, .050" diameter which turns out to be the best on the market, but surprisingly this unbranded YIMIA solder is as good as most well known brands like Kester. One is slightly thinner (1mm vs. 1.27mm) than the Kester solder reel I usually buy, but in the electronics world. Antique Electronics Even with the Restriction on Hazardous Substances (ROHS) initiative, lead-free blah blah, whatever you want to call it, you still have to coat it with good ol'…
