I know this product has had some bad reviews but I think that's just because some people expected too much of it. I would NEVER use this for anything other than drywall. Take your time setting up two torches in the same spot and practice using the appropriate force and you'll be fine. I've used this overhead to set lighting in 30 different sized holes and had no problems with it.

This worked exactly as expected on a ceiling tile laid over 3 layers of drywall countertop. I used a large to medium sized clear party tray lid, drilled through the center to keep dust out. Make sure everything is tight before you start, apply very little pressure and take your time. The first hole for the 8.25-inch speaker was cut in 15 seconds at low speed, 10 seconds to suck a tile, then move on to the next tile. This is a solid and well made tool. Bought the 300mm model. It comes with a stick as shown in the product photo, which can be replaced with a piece of round shaft with a sharp end. The instructions say it's in thin materials. I prefer the Drill Style Center. When drilling a hole, I find using it on a drill press to be the easiest and most accurate.
