Works great with my siphon coffee maker. Easy to use and manage. My only complaint is purely cosmetic: I hate the cheap-looking gold metal. I actually bought heat resistant black paint (designed for BBQ) and plan to redo. If they offered different styles, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Works just as well as a Hario halogen heater. The real difference is that Hario takes about 2 minutes to pour water into the top of the coffee siphon, while it takes about 4-5 minutes with pre-boiled water. This is more than enough for home use or for a separate slowbar. to operate a 5 cup siphon without the use of an alcohol or butane torch. I have brewed about 100 siphon pots and am very satisfied. I have recommended this to several friends and they feel the same way.

I bought a used version for about $65 and they weren't kidding. The item arrived and the styrofoam was clearly in contact with the power cord and melted on a warm day (or in a warehouse). This Yuchentech came well packaged with an extra bulb and simple instructions. When you start brewing in a siphon, this is a must and a relief from the spirit burner approach. Do yourself a favor and invest. If gold isn't your thing, that would be the only reason to skip this one. Mine works great! Granted it's gold made in China etc etc but it looks great in my kitchen and does the job great and my neighbors love the display as Nuff said. I had no problems with the buyer or the product

Unpacking was a disappointment. The product was cheap, the lens cap was flimsy and barely fitted properly. Very big and bulky, only 350 watts. The heater only worked properly at full power. It should be used for boiling water with a coffee siphon. It took 13 minutes to boil 4 cups of water (7 minutes longer than a regular kettle). Sent back immediately after first use. This item is amazing! I'm not sure why he asked about the fat one, is it a white girl? HAHAHA. You can clearly see its bulkiness which is a bonus in my book! It takes up a decent amount of desktop space, but it looks cool! If you love making siphon pots, this is the only way! I recommend pouring already hot water into it.
