These black ink cartridges were very cheap so I figured they might not work but I bought a few to try anyway. It turns out they work really well! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the plastic coating on the connector that transfers the ink to the printer is difficult to remove. At first I couldn't install the cartridge. Arrived fairly quickly and the price was the best I could find. Two cartridges arrived, each sealed/boxed for storage if needed. There were no instructions on how to replace the ink supply other than a recommendation to remove the yellow tape prior to installation. I was wondering if the ink supply part was covered in plastic as there was an open hole in the ink supply unit remote from the printer, but the printer itself took care of that. I have a Brother MFC-J870DW printer, purchased in July 2013 from Revain. I installed the EZ 7/20/16 cartridge without removing the chip from the older brother cartridge. He pressed hard on the cartridge and sat down alone. I checked the amount of ink in the printer, now it shows a full cartridge. I checked the print quality and the black ink part is perfect: no smudges, instant drying and all black ink. No leakage occurred when installing the cartridge. Gotta love saving $6 vs $32! Brother…
