Save your money!: Engines & Engine Parts

I put 4 of these on a 100hp tractor engine. The heaters are all working, the temp is now 10 degrees Fahrenheit, 32 degrees 24 hours ago, they've been plugged in for 2 days. The best temperature I've had with an IR thermometer was 23 degrees Fahrenheit on my head just above the heaters. The biggest problem I see is the large air gap between the heating surface and the motor (see pictures). Without continuity you will never get your engine/oil/surface/whatever hot. The surfaces have to touch, otherwise you can just use a lightbulb and good luck with that. I hooked it up to a nice clean and shallow oil pan that only holds 3 liters, in a barn, air temp around 18*F. After 3 hours there was no heat in the pan. It wasn't as cold as outside, but not warm at all (wish I could use an…

I bought Zerostart 3400017 in January 2020. I use it for my tractor's hydrostatic transmission when winter temperatures are expected to be below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. I used it twice until summer 2020 and it worked well, and the third time in December 2020 it worked well. In the second week of February 2021, when low temperatures were forecast again, I used it for the fourth time and connected it around midnight. did not survive the night. Some time after turning it on, it overheated and…
