Hot Rage Lightbulb

These lightbulbs make my gecko happy, and really, as long as your lizard is happy, what else matters? They don't last very long, but I've been spoiled for LEDs. Light Bulbs, But Lizard Love Is Worth It (Right?)

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great for hermit crabs 🦀

I use these lamps for our hermit crabs. I like that there is a day and night light bulb. The night light will definitely keep the tank warm at night. I deducted this star because one of the bulbs was missing from my last order, but Revain's great customer service helped me 👏🏻!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • So far so good

Be careful with these lightbulbs, they can burst and catch fire!

I purchased this combo pack in April 2020. The red lightbulb literally just burst and caught fire for no reason. Broken glass fell into my turtle's aquarium. My return window is closed but I will be contacting the seller. The red bulb was the least used and should not have burned out like this. Very insecure!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Exchange available

This is a very convenient way to insure our snake.

A very handy way to ensure our snake has the right lighting. We have a double light holder that sits on top of his cage. I always had to buy bulbs separately until I found out that Zoo Med makes day and night bulbs that come in one pack. It turned out to be a lot cheaper than buying the bulbs individually. Thank you Zoomed.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Appearance

NOT LONG LASTING - Heat Lamps

I bought these to have on hand when my current bulbs burned out. I replaced the fluorescent bulb on April 19th and as of today, May 25th, it has burned out. This light bulb works with a timer and works for 9 hours a day. I only have 324 hours on this bulb. Lamps I've used in the past have lasted 9 to 12 months. Are those real Zoo-Med lightbulbs? Don't waste money on them.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Inexpensive Fire Lamps and Terrarium Mats

The blue bulb exploded after a day of use. The glass bulb broke off the filament and fell into my Pacman frog's terrarium of smoking blue glass. Luckily we had just moved and hadn't set up the automatic timer yet, so we had to turn the lightbulb on manually so we could be present when the lightbulb burned out to quickly turn it off. Cheap and dangerous.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Only available in black

Bulbs don't seem to last very long

I bought this day/night kit after needing to replace my first 60w daylight bulb which burned out after a month. I bought from Amazon and am here today because I need to change the lightbulb again. This second lasted two days less than 2 months. I turn on the lightbulb for 12 hours every day. I'm now buying a similar bulb from another company to see if their 60w daytime heat bulbs last longer than the zoo's. I will review this review pending the outcome.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some issues

Minus the purchase of the "COMBO " pack.

Negative first: for HEAT to provide UV-A to stimulate normal feeding behavior and is expected to have a LONG LIFESPAN. Blue reptilian tuber 12/10/17; Blown up in mid-February 2018. Second positive note: for HEATING; for OBSERVING the nocturnal behavior of the reptiles, real red glass (not painted or coated for better heat transfer). The Night Red lightbulb is open on 12/10/17. We are working until 05/03/18. Both are 60W. Both cost $5.36. If I can't find another blue one at a good price I'll…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
